What is Texas SMARTTrack?
Texas SMARTTrack (Safety, Mobility, and Autonomy Research and Testing) is a world-class proving ground that brings together transportation agencies, university researchers, and private industry to improve traffic safety, operations and management through smart transportation infrastructure and automated vehicles.

Texas SMARTTrack (TST) will evaluate new technologies for vehicles, infrastructure, traffic control centers, and data management. TST will enable TxDOT and other agencies to develop standards and specifications for the implementation of these technologies.
TST will be used by government agencies for technology assessment, by university researchers for technology advancement, and by private sector Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) to test their vehicles and new technologies.
